NEO
Farm Australia is an Australian corporation established in 2007
to cultivate and export environmentally-friendly agricultural
products. It is located an hour from the Gold Coast in northern
New South Wales. NEO Farm Australia has 20,000 macadamia trees
in three farms on over 106ha of land. The macadamia nut has
no cholesterol and is widely known as a dietary supplement.
In 2008, macadamia production reached 210 tonnes and within
two to three years, production is expected to increase to 400
tonnes. The processed macadamia are exported to the United States
and Europe and will soon be introduced to Korea as well. There
are plans to adopt organic farming methods and add other crops
in addition to macadamia. Daesung Group also uses the farm as
its GLAD (Global Leadership Academy of Daesung Group) training
facility. GLAD offers employees the chance to experience life
on an environmentally-friendly farm as well as language and
cultural studies. The company also plans to open the facility
to college students.
